    • Imagery of the sea, rivers, mountains, and meadows conveys harmony, change, and the beauty of existence.

  2. Spirituality and Faith:

    • Themes of prayer, divine guidance, and the search for meaning are prominent, emphasizing faith, redemption, and the connection to a higher power.

    • Biblical references, such as the burning bush and the story of Jesus, highlight spiritual lessons and moral reflections.

  3. Human Struggles and Growth:

    • Lyrics explore personal challenges, resilience, and the passage of time, often using metaphors like storms, rivers, and mountains to depict life's trials and triumphs.

    • The struggle for identity, self-discovery, and overcoming adversity is a recurring motif.

  4. Love and Emotional Connections:

    • Romantic and emotional themes are expressed through longing, loss, and the beauty of relationships, often tied to natural imagery like sunsets and the sea.

    • Reflections on love's transformative power and its enduring impact are central.

  5. Social Commentary:

    • Critiques of societal issues, such as corruption, war, environmental neglect, and inequality, are woven into the lyrics.

    • Advocacy for change, harmony, and understanding is evident.

  6. Introspection and Reflection:

    • Many lyrics delve into introspection, pondering life's purpose, choices, and the impact of one's actions.

    • Themes of memory, legacy, and the search for meaning are explored.

  7. Freedom and Resilience:

    • Imagery of flight, open landscapes, and breaking free from constraints symbolizes personal freedom, resilience, and the pursuit of one's destiny.

These themes collectively create a tapestry of philosophical, emotional, and spiritual insights, often grounded in vivid natural imagery and personal reflection.

The lyrics convey several messages about change, emphasizing its inevitability, challenges, and transformative potential. Key messages include:

  1. Embracing Change:

    • Change is portrayed as a natural and unavoidable part of life, symbolized by tides, waves, and the passage of time. Lyrics like "you have to make your way for the changes" and "things don't happen unless you're in the groove" encourage proactive adaptation to life's shifts.

  2. Resilience and Growth:

    • Change is often linked to personal growth and resilience. Lyrics such as "failure to adapt when the times have changed don't say much for my survival" highlight the importance of evolving to thrive in new circumstances.

  3. Letting Go:

    • The lyrics stress the need to release what weighs you down, as seen in "shed your skin starting today, free yourself from what weighs you down." This reflects the idea that embracing change requires letting go of the past.

  4. Uncertainty and Opportunity:

    • Change is depicted as unpredictable yet full of possibilities. Lines like "wish upon a star or flip a coin, chances are you'll have to bust a move" suggest that while outcomes may be uncertain, taking action is necessary to create opportunities.

  5. Nature as a Metaphor for Change:

    • Natural imagery, such as waves washing away or the ebb and flow of tides, symbolizes the cyclical and transformative nature of change. This reinforces the idea that change is both inevitable and renewing.

  6. Spiritual and Philosophical Reflections:

    • Change is tied to spiritual growth and self-discovery, as seen in lyrics like "let go and let God, he can show you the way." This suggests that faith and introspection can help navigate life's transitions.

  7. Acceptance and Adaptation:

    • The lyrics encourage acceptance of change and adapting to new realities, as expressed in "rolling rocks in the water don't stay locked in place, and after time they look polished." This metaphor highlights the beauty and refinement that can emerge from enduring life's challenges.

Overall, the lyrics convey that change, while often difficult, is essential for growth, renewal, and discovering one's path in lif

1. evolution plunder

oh lord, i want to be a prophet. do as you will do. be what you want.

take a stand. last night i was sitting around feeling down

and i decided to wander. reached deep down inside and started to cry

every minute i cried a little harder i cried a little longer

i turned myself inside out and i began to fly

crazy, crazy nut jobs all around me change and change

from the start it's evolution that plays the part and they burned down rome

just a foolish blunder build it and then plunder

what sets us apart from the caveman the steps that we take

and more thunder i can't imagine what the lord says more than i should of

had of even i give, i give them a place. and they act like children,

every race i don't know the answer to the question

even if i did, it wouldn't matter. someone would find a reason to explode.

even nature's is a privilege, why would you? search to twist the wonder

a gift from god and they plunder even the meaning's bastardized

don't they know it holds the spirit that are the handprints of god yet alive

we share in a common destiny we thank the creator and learn from its guide

how can you hear

in the minds eye when you surround yourself with lies

walking with the spirit takes time a great mountain will rise

the pain will subside and you will learn to live and live to learn

without the noise last night i was sitting around feeling down

and i decided to wonder

2. oh canada whatever your name

like romancing a stone oh, canada land where my fathers died can you hear them? can you hear their? metis cry

oh canada, whatever be thy name no matter i use your present name

for your nation pride and i'm not worthy to speak of your ancient times

for your labor pains were shared by the usa

and the children born of your people

spread your seed in the heart of america oh, canada

please forgive me, i am a child of both sides,

but my true allegiance is to my native father.

over land or by sea i will come too much, too much

my lady, i just can't get enough

like romancing a stone oh, canada land where my fathers died

can you hear them? can you hear their?

metis cry oh canada whatever be thy name no matter i use your present name

for your nation pride and i'm not worthy to speak of ancient times

for your labor pains were shared by the usa and the children born

of your people spread your seed in the heart of america.

oh, canada, please forgive me. i am a child of both sides.

but my true allegiance is to my native father.

3. sea shells for rose2

dirty cans and broken bottles fish line and plastic blowing

in the wind she picks up all the garbage and lines up some pretty shells

she's truly one of god's children. i wonder if she's aware a simple soul in her forties, but you couldn't tell by her clothes. even her face kinda glows but she's pasty she must stay at home I'm kinda sad i didn't tell her she's special if the world would be like her there would be no wars feast or famine or pollution

she respects and shares all she knows i know that heaven will have a special place and maybe one day she'll hear this song as i watch her go,

she puts her hand out to a seagull as to say hello, hello then she pulls away with her mother at the wheel she was an elderly woman with a cloak of her own and i thought to myself, even though i was ten how lucky,

how lucky for this mother to have a rose dirty cans and broken bottles, fish line and plastic blowing in the wind, she picks up all the garbage and lines up some pretty shells, she's truly one of gods children wonders if she's a aware a simple soul in her forties you couldn't tell by her clothes even her face kinda glows but she's pasty she mostly stays at home kinda sad i didn't

tell her she is special to the world

4. the big picture2

it reminds him of yesterday just like me, he writes it down

puts it in a song to help him remember the big picture at the sea ,

i went home with a song so excited i looked through some old pictures, you see

and i found some of you and me i compared the horizon and the sea

what i saw was my granddaughter and me the place was the same,

just different names it was truly the big picture. and you and me

i can smell the smell of the ocean. brings

back pictures when i was young. hours and hours of playing in the sun.

wishing and hoping

for the future pictures, of pictures of me my brother and sister by the sea,

now i see the big picture how the time go by i sit by the bay

and the skimmer goes by

and i gaze into the water picture the big picture can you see? it's all about

the children by the sea and there's a man over there sitting in a chair he's watching the children play it reminds him of yesterday just like me

he writes it down, puts in a song

to help him remember the big picture at the sea

i went home with a song so excited

i looked through some old pictures you see and i found some of you and me i compared the horizons and the sea what i saw was my granddaughter and me the place was the same,

just different names it was truly the big picture and you and me.

5. think i'll go fishing

think i'll go fishing fly a kite or just stay here and write

if i think too deep i'll wonder why people can't live

while their alive i'm not talking about conception i'm not talking about how to drive i'm talking about the river ride

something romantic about a paddle wheel boat something majestic

about a sail sailing the sea but when i see some fool making a way all i see

is the me in me if the ride a river and just say no to reality

you'll always be blind if they ride

the river and see the real possibility you'll question your mind

and sometimes say why

i don't understand the death and destruction, but i rode the river and questioned

my time and i find myself to realize some things in life make perfect sense and sometimes my friend there's a prize

at the bottom of the cracker jack box like the seahorse on the bottom of the sea think i'll go fishing or fly a kite or just stay here and write

if i think too deep i wonder why people can't live while they're alive

i'm not talking about conception i'm not talking about how to drive

i'm talking about the river ride

6. took a walk to wonder

took a walk to wonder turned around to walk back to write it down

there in the midst of the evening after the sun sets the stars rise

it's hard to fathom it's hard to realize how god put them there

numbers in the skies black holes, and pulsars even megastars ten times ten

to a million the sight is there someone out there something of surprise

chances are endless possibilities that they're wise

beautiful angels with sparkles in their eyes is there wonder out there

is there wonder in the night you best believe me

there is nothing left to changes the proof is in the sky so after the sunset

look at the numbers the possibilities are endless like the number

of star in the skies there is wonder before this moment there is wonder

before my eyes there is wonder in the evening skies

took a walk to wonder turned around to walk back to write it down

there in the mist of the evening sky after the sun sets

the stars rise it's hard to fathom

it's hard to realize how god put them there the numbers in the skies

black holes and pulsars even megastars ten times ten

to a million the size, is there something out there,

something up to try? the chances are endless,

the possibilities that they're wise.

beautiful angels with twinkles in their eyes

is there wonder out there? is there wonder in the night?

you best believe me there is nothing left to chances

the proof is in the sky so after the sunset

look at the numbers, the possibilities are endless

like the number of stars in the sky

7. you sold your devil to the soul

chasing women, driving crazy. you sold your devil to your soul

now you're down and out.

half crazy, hitchhiking to albacurky with nowhere to go.

and you ask me for my help but you're out of luck you've got work to do you haven't suffered enough you've sold your devil to your soul

you finally found a game cause your pockets are empty and you can't afford your habit of snow of snow so you break your back digging

ditches on a wage prevailing job so so you get a big paycheck

you can blow you count your money after the weekend ...

you just don't know you sold your devil to your soul now your broke again now your broke again open your pockets and dig your grave witch after your bing on skid row tell me about it that's how i lived a long

time ago when i, when i had enough jesus said i'll buy your devil and clean your soul so carry on young man, your man till you've had enough but i can see your laughing at me. you're not ready to cut lose your devil.

so devil whiskey drinking, smoking cigarettes.

8. the swarm

the soul finds refuge in the foothills

and the eyes of forgiveness blaze your trail they set their table

and consume with greedy open your arms and feed the needy

there's always food for the thoughtful mind so the question to answer

how do they know to follow? is the leader of the swarm

a target to throw the evil from the trail? the only problem

the mass that follows only follow for a time and a new leader

takes his turn everyone in nature gets to lead and follow for a time.

every soul's got a feeding frenzy, not the kind that swarms with envy. you gotta place yourself in solitude. while the swam plays king of  whatever

the soul finds refuge in the foothills and the eyes of forgiveness blaze your trail they set their table and consume with greedy open your arms

and feed the needy theirs always food for the thoughtful mind so the question

to answer how do they know to follow is the leader of the swarm a target

to throw evil from the trail

9. lordy lordy lord

lordy lordy lord can i be a soldier for you? you battle my demons

for me i owe you everything that i have. lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy

i kneel before you.you are the king of man lordy,

lordy, lordy lordy, lordy, lordy you, truth and justice follow you

kings of kings only the father before you and your spirit lives in every man

that accepts your plan and honors you for what you did

lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy,

it was an irony for those that drove nails through your hands

imagine their faces when they found out

you were the son of god and you forgave them

as they brutalized your body and you said

father forgive them for they know not what they do.

lordy, lordy, lordy, king of man.

lordy, lordy, lordy, lordy,

10. believe i love you 2017

if i say that i love you would you believe

knowing the distance is hard to conceive we are worlds apart

like fall and spring one in my

hands one in my hearts its more than words or wishes

or a meal on a dish and how can i pray cause i don't know if it's right or wrong

that i can't say if it stays this way

i'll be torn into but happiness does not lie no other way

cause a broken heart is the

price i pay for the world i'll choose for the world i choose

to come this way, for a man that has love in his hands, and a special place.for another part is so hard what can i do, what can

i say do you feel this way as i go, as i sit by the bay

wonder if it happened to be with

a bird i see a fish in the sea whether right or wrong

how would they know cause for them it

wouldn't be natural and that i'd say is the end of the day

if i say i love you would you believe knowing the distance

is hard to conceive we are worlds apart like fall

and spring one in my hand one in my heart

it's more than words or wishes

11. i could sit here all day

i could sit here all day and waste away listening for you.

sometimes i just don't know what to do so i simply say

speak to me in your own way

won't you speak to me and let me know

i will follow, will follow, if you tell me so

i will listen to everything i hear i'll listen to the wind

i'll listen to the waves i'll listen to the rain

i'll listen to the birds and beas and i listen to the voice

in me tell me, tell me so speak to me with all you know

i could sit here all day long  listen to whatever i see

for they tell you don't you know every picture tells a story

i see pictures in the sky i see pictures in my mind's eye

i see pictures of you and me in the reflection

in the sea there was a time there was a place there was a picture

and no sign that says there's a power greater than you and me

reaching out to see tell me father, tell me son

tell me brother, are we all one?

12. oh canada whatever be thy name

no matter i use  your present name for your nation pride

and i'm not worthy to speak of your ancient time

for your labor pains were shared by the usa and the children

born of your people spread your seed in the heart of america oh, canada

please forgive me, i am a child of both sides, but my true allegiance

is to my native father over land

or by sea i will come too much, too much my lady, i just can't get enough

like romancing a stone oh, canada land where my fathers died

can you hear them? can you hear their?

metis cry oh canada whatever be thy name no matter

 i use your present name

for your nation pride and i'm not worthy to speak of ancient times

for your labor pains were shared by the usa and the children born

of your people spread your seed in the heart of america.

oh, canada, please forgive me. i am a child of both sides.

but my true allegiance is to my native father.

13. running hands

with the sound of a gun. running my hands through my hair

in the shower running my hands in the shower

three in the morning. i can stay here for hours

. no where to go i don't drink anymore

i don't drink anymore i can feel the war hold on i can feel the war

hold on let me go, yesterday's gone

twenty years, dry as a bone i don't walk without a home

all i want to do is rome

and smell the fruit of the flower ho ho ho by the hour

i sing this song in the shower

and i close my eyes and dance with the wind make love to the water

 now i got myself dressed

faced with this now i beat the pavement for a shot of coffee

glad i don't smoke take a toke

life is fun with no monkeys on my back but it's me that i free

looking looking for a moment

from a past haunted with the sound, with the sound of a gun

 running my

running my hands through my hair in the shower its three in the morning.

i can stay here for hours woa woa.

nowhere to go i don't drink anymore  woa woa hold on I can feel along another lowwoho whyhohow let me go,

yesterday's gone twenty years, dry as a bone i don't walk without a home

all i want to do is rome and smell the fruit of the flower woa ho ho by the hour i sing this song in the shower

and i close my eyes

14. with a mighty roar

i say with a mighty roar i say with a mighty roar

i say with a mighty roar

i say with a fist in my hand i say with a fist in my hand

gotta break down these walls im in looking gotta be a better plan

gotta be a better plan it's just not enough it's just not enough

this is this is no way to live i cant be the only one i cant be the only one

that's sees were leaking like a sieve. everything's at stake you need

everything's at stake no matter what you do, it feels like a mistake.

so i say, say it now, here and now, i'm making my final stand

it's all or nothing i'm not i'm not dealing with no man out of sight and out of mind

i'm not in the feeding frenzy i'm taking the path of least resistance.

i'm taking the path of least resistance. but if that means walking strait

or tearing down walls i'll do whatever it takes to set the stage

if you see the diamonds in my eyes or if or if i find the golden clam

it not for my sake its for the sake of man in terms of the size of the prize

please understand its not the giant he's not a giant its for the pebble and slingshot

in my hand i say with a mighty roar i say with a mighty roar

i say a fist in hand

gotta break down these walls i'm in gotta be a better plan.

it's just not enough this is no way to live i can't be only one

that sees a vision like i see

15. sea shells for rose

dirty cans and broken bottles fish line and plastic blowing in the wind

she picks up all the garbage and lines up some pretty shells

she's truly one of god's children

i wonder if she's aware a simple soul in her forties

but you couldn't tell by her clothes her face kinda glows

but she's pasty she must stay at home

i'm kinda sad i didn't tell her she's special if the world would be like her

there would be no wars feast or famine or, pollution,

a simple soul in her forties couldn't tell by her clothes

 even her face kinda glows

but she's pasty she mostly stays at home kinda sad

i didn't tell her she's special to the world

16. i was gone

i was gone stone cold sober harking back to a time

thought i was the prophet of hope

i was searching the sky from inside a gazebo saw a skylight had a swing inside

swung up to heaven by the ropes that bind written on the sides

welcome father gaze and you will see

a field of dreams touches heaven the hopes and dreams

for the future and to keep them alive a lighthouse in the harbor

past a bowie you will find

the harbor seal what is sealed the secrets of heaven

yesterday is only but a time

reality turned upside down and the feeling arise

so you fell off your horse for a time

you can still ride look to the horizon even if you see a mirage

that will get you by to the oasis how i love the sky

if only if i'm gone stone cold sober i will rise

and i know with hope inside i will rise does that make me a prophet of hope

and as i leave i see a feather this must be a sign

something to follow i was gone stone cold sober harkin' back to a time

thought i was the prophet of hope i was searching'

17. i love you

one thing in life you'll never forget one thing in life you'll never forget

one thing in life you'll never regret all that i can ask for

is that one thing? if all the words i know made perfect sense

if i could write the perfect song every word would stand tall

every word would fall in place

the meaning would be grace and the time would be now

for this moment in all of time

if i could capture that rhyme one thing is life you'll never forget

are the words i love you there's nothing to compare

the meaning stands tall for all of time and place

it will always stay the same if i could write the perfect song

every word would stand tall every word would fall in place

the meaning would be grace and the time would be now

for this moment in all of time

if i could capture that rhyme one thing is life you'll never forget

are the words i love you there's nothing to compare

the meaning stands tall for all of time and place

it will always stay the same even though theirs many ways of saying

i love you just simply love you it's something that lasts

all lifelong even if you take it back

the fact remains the same if you meant it when you said it

it rings true, just the same

i love you i love you what then comes before

i'm sorry listen to me my child my darling,

and many more i love you i love youi I simply love you.

1. lone drifter

lone, lone drifter  nomad of the desert and the stars

fading away fading away without the love i need to heal me

if only a star i could follow to save my heart that would be a star

sometimes stars and signs don't always point to matters of the heart

and again, old, drifters

the love we steal is in the wind and so it sounds the tumbleweed the sidewinder the lone singer next to a cactus when i see the turquoise in the pebbles

in the sand, i see the turquoise in her eyes. and over there sitting on a rock with her hair down to there braided silk like the mane of a thundering mare.

Oh how i like pining and i dare dream.

of her lying nest to me when i die it will say that old lonely drifter

loved romancing  a  mirage  lone lone drifter nomad of the desert

and the stars fading away fading away

without the love i need to heal me if only a star i could follow

to save my heart that would be a start that would be a start

but sometimes stars and signs don't always point to matters

of the heart then again for drifters the love we seek is in the wind and so the signs a tumbleweed a sidewinder lone singer next to a cactus when i see the turquoise in the pebble in the sand

i've seen the turquoise in her eyes and over there, sitting on a rock with her hair down to there crazy silk, silk shining like the mane of a thunderous mare

2. out to pasture

the wind is howling tonight

the skies are gray winter's not that far away i'll be waiting

for my friends only the bold and strong survive sometimes illusively

if you ever saw the harrier hawk you will know why

they say the lion is the king of the forest well the eagle is

the king of the sky and old men put out to pasture have their own

freedom now the meadows are my forum and my friends fly

in the sky and my mentor is the wind whistling by

you can't take a picture it's a state of mind it's part of

your soul  part of your mind's eye there are many

abode  on the meadows in midwinter you'll find one of

its own i once saw a mongolian throat singer

on top of desolate mountain i could hear in his voice he

captured it on state  in every flying star in every

cloud and the starfish in the sea for old men put out

to pasture there is a sense, the meaning of life

it's in bold and subtle seen in bold and subtle seen  the wind is

howling tonight the skies are gray winter's not that

far away i'll be waiting for my friend, only the bold and

strong survive. music

3. please dont hate me

please don't hate me my friend for something someone did way back when

i understand your anger i can assure you there's a fire

and it burns through out the chain in every war and every family

in a white man with native blood i'm a child of the depression

i'm a poor man even though you say i'm privileged

but i'm a free man like you to many laws and regulations

to much corruption and war to many home grown and disillusioned

to many people get caught up in the game if you find yourself disillusioned

you can find a higher power if you walk in the dark seek in shelter

then walk in a park to please the eye

its been said so many times it's been said to be happy you must feed your desires but in the end it's a thing

called love and life and sacrifice every strong man lifts some weight. it's not how much it get you, it's

not how you take. it's how much you lift your brother for jesus sake.

4. salem witch

saw a scarecrow at the door on his way out

he don't wanna live here anymore leaves are turning people disappearing

only the wind comes around anymore there's a witch in salem

i can feel her at my door she's got a hold on all my neighbors

whispers and innuendos galore you can't trust your shadow

she put a spell on this town now she's trying to put a spell on me

everything is upside down and their speaking in tongues

they think i don't know what they say but it don't matter anyway they're just irrational lies made to fool me before the scarecrow

left town he told me she'll put a fear in you and you’ll believe

in her lies when you fall for her she'll steal yours soul

you must save this town and burn her to the ground

like a gin bottle once she spreads this evil it will break out

in a plague and were all and all will be gone

saw a scarecrow saw a scarecrow at the door on his way out

he don't wanna live here anymore leaves are turning people disappearing

only the wind comes around anymore there's a witch in salem

i can feel her at my door she's got a hold on all my neighbors

whispers and innuendos galore you can't trust your shadow

she put a spell on this town now she's trying to put a spell on me

everything is upside down and their speaking in tongues everything is upside down and their speaking in tongues

she put a spell on this town now she's trying to put a spell on me

everything is upside down and their speaking in tongues

5. standing here above the fray

standing here above the fray i see clearly now to take a bow

for the love of you is what i must do and even now i can't wait

to follow my heart beyond the horizon  with you

i can't turn back the sands of time has sealed my fate you cannot unsee the golden gate like children of love playing so is the end of time beyond the walls so you drank your wine and ate the plate and you dance

the night till you fell then you spent your time getting right and it took you to another time and place and like the pearly gates you climb and now you cant

escape but that's not what you want it's here that you stay i walked beyond the horizon and fell for you but you think i talk of a person but i talk of a place you cannot unsee the golden gate like children of love playing so is the end of time beyond the walls so you drank  so you drank your wine and ate the plate

and you dance the night till you fell then you spent your time getting right and it took you to another time and place and like and like the pearly gates

you climb and now you can't escape but that's but that's not

what you want it's here that you stay i walked

beyond the horizon and fell for you but you think

i talk of a person but i talk of a place

6. the lite gives life

far off in the

distance i see a light, it sparkles and shines and is

illuminating the night. she shows of to lovers in

the man on the moon. in the morning on the horizon.

there comes a beam glistening in the new day majestic

to save the least even the shadow it casts are awesome

and in the middle of the day, when it's raining

there's a rainbow multicolored across the sky, like a flag

calling but there is no sight so pleasing than when

the sun sets in the evening as if to bless the day

and its wonders oh, if to say till we meet again

tonight we know that life gives life and warms the

earth and connects us to the universe we say it's

deep in me and shining we call god the light for a

reason far off in the distance i see a light it

sparkles and shines and illuminates the night she

shows up to lovers  in the night in the man on the

moon and in the morning on our horizon there comes

a beam glistening a new day majestic to say the least

even the shadows it cast are awesome and in the middle

of the day when it's raining there's a rainbow

multicolored across the sky like a flag calling but

there is no sight so pleasing and when the sun sets

in the evening that's it, to bless the day and it's

wonderful to say till we meet again tonight till we

meet again tonight

7. they were words not often said

they were words not often said and they are words not often spread

but the image of them brings back a time of romance

in my head why don't you stay with me? why don't you lay with me?

we will make love till the morning light

words i wish upon the wild are not often said was was he too drunk?

was he too shy? was he too mixed up in the head

and there was the fourth of july we kissed for the first time

we were just kids and i held you hand

at the rocky picture show i remember it so and at the time

we danced all night and in the moonlight we made love

on the sand dune but the best of all was the night i held you tight

and i said to you why don't you lay with me?

why don't you stay the night? we will make love till the morning light

we will make love till the morning light they were words not often said

and they are words not often spread but the image of them

bring back a time of romance in my head why don't you stay with me

why don't you lay with me? we will make love till the morning light

words i wish to ponder why are not often said

was he too drunk? was he too shy? was he too mixed up in the head?

11. what they say about this country

what they say about this country what they say

is all in their head generations have walked here

generations have been fed they worked the land

they gathered the fruit they hunted the banes

and they worked till they bled and they raised a family

and shed bread what they say about this country

is all in their head i took a hayride when i

was a kid played king of the mountain and cut my head

i stood with my family in the midst of the dead

i know of the ones that came across the mountain

i know of the founders and i know of the ones who married the ones

that were here they bonded in trade with fears

and tears i know of the ones over land

i know of the wars over man what they say about this

country is all in their head if they don't consider

the multitude that are dead with all that we know and all

that has happened i hope in the future we get it right

that's what i say about this country that's what's in my

head what they say about this country what they

say is all in their head generations have walked here

generations have been fed. they worked the land,

they gathered the fruit, they hunted the bands,

and they worked till they bled. they raised a family and

they broke the bread. what they say about this country

is all in their head. it took a hayride when i was

a kid i played king of the mountains and i cut my head

and i stood with my family in the midst of the dead

what they say about this country what they say is

all in their head.

12. a struggle to life

a struggle to life take me up to the mountain open my eyes

from dust to dust lead me to take flight

throw my ashes over a cliff in this life

and if i be lucky, i thinks i will rise

went to the edge of humanity and been given a gift

like pandoro's box i look inside. it was the gift of insight

to see a bird in flight a hairier hawk

over the meadows, from dust to dust in every possible scene

but the one out of sight is still in flight

if you look beyond the mountain and you're look beyond the sky

the way you get there ashes blown by the wind

there is on the wings of a phinex way up in the sky

from dust to dust in ever possible scene

every man is an out low sometimes in this life

the roads are many and many lights

sometimes you miss the stop signs and get lost to the fire

a struggle to the heart a struggle to life

take me up to the mountains open my eyes from dust to dust

lead me to take flite throw my ashes over the cliff

and if i be lucky i things i will rise i went to the edge

of humanity and given a gift

raging waters

1. as lovers we did fly

and the story's not over till it's time as i sit

by the water i wonder the endless meadows and streams one can find it occurred to me as if a dream it's a shelter for the water in its time

for for flows flows for she for she for she flows  along her

twist and turns and wines as we go down our river this too in time and i see a bird

a bird over in the sky she reminds me of a lover and how weand how we did fly and how we did fly under cover under cover and shelter in my mind. now take this water and drink my fill. and spray upon me the droplets refresh my soul with moments of special time and let the light shine through the droplets and warm me like a lover for the rest of my life and a wish, i wish for another like the blow of a kiss. it spreads, it shines. and the story's not over till it's time as i sit by the water i wonder the endless meadows and streams one can find it occurred to me as if in a dream it's a shelter for the water in its time for she flows along her twists and turns and winds. as we go down our river, this two in time. and i see a bird, hover in the sky she reminds me of a lover and how we did fly

2. back to the sea

where the land meets the sea that's where i will be where we grow to our feet to be warriors to concur the land with a staff in our hand and rise from the tide to be fishers of men

in the days of the prophets and stories were told in the days of men and warriors and them that were bold of men and warriors some walked back to sea to escape tyranny and one even walked on water

we are called to the world stand up as men and some like me go back to the sea it is them that fly in the sky by the water that attracts me there all the warriors to be sometime justified

and me i would rather fly if only in my eyes where the land meets the sea that's where i will be where we crawled to our feet to be warrior's to concur the land with a staff in our hand and rise from the tide to be fishers of men

in the days of the prophets the stories were told in the days of men and warrior's and them that were bold some walked back to sea to escape tyreny and one even walked on water

we are called to be bold to stand up as men and some like me go back to the sea it is them that fly in the sky by the water that attracts me there all the warriors to be sometime justified

and me i would rather fly if only in my eyes where the land meets the sea that's where i will be where we crawled to our feet to be warriors where we crawled to our feet to be warriors

3. believe i love you

if i say that i love you would you believe knowing

the distance is hard to conceive we our worlds apart like fall and spring one in my

hand one in my heart its more than words or wishes or a meal or a dish and how can i pray cause i don't know if it's right or wrong and i can say if it stays this way i'll be torn in two but happiness does not lie no other way cause a broken heart is the price i pay for the world i choose for the world i choose to come this way, for a man that has love in his hands, and a special place. for another part in in this old heart what can i do, what can

i say do you feel this way as i go, as i sit by the bay wonder if it happened to be with a bird i' see a fish in the  sea whether right or wrong how would they know cause for them it

would be natural and that i'd say is the end of the day if i say i love you would

you believe knowing the distance is hard to conceive we are worlds apart like fall

and spring one in my hand one in my heart it's more than words or wishes

4. burning bush to the sea

halfway from here to there in the distance lies the answer

to our existence in a burning bush i see a voice talks to me

i am who i am if you ask me who i am there's a mountain i see where it's said to be a man with commands given to thee

and what's written on them is laws to obey in our time of existence and you say to me you know the way than answer

me this by whose authority a  burning bush or a old holy man coming down a mountain and i say why not the sea for the answer to me lies in the tide

the ebb and flow of the the creatures from there the the mountain rise and men do fish and the rising tide brings life to the bay and from all I can tell from the water from the water comes the stream that has feed the mountain man and the burning bush the burning bush

i am

who i am if you ask me who i am there's a mountain man i see where it's said to be

a man with commands, give it to thee and what's written on them is laws to obey in our time

i've been searching, i've been searching the horizon

for what i don't know but a ghost follows me and i can't

shake him so like a train wreck i'm about to lay him low

in the essence of the wind that keeps the water rising i can

tell the direction its been in and the raging water brings the bear to its

shore where the salmon reach as high as they can go? for the reasons why are in

the soul within raging waters will tell you the direction of the wind,

and the belly of the beast is the spirit of death. and even though the dead

does not live, the ghost carries the story of survival. so the answer to the

question is sown to the wind and the raging water the seed of survival

and when it time for revival the chances you take you must learn from the path that the ghost leaves behind you raging water, raging water in my soul

and when it falls against the beach it speeds out and reach till it disappears in the sands of time building dunes or washing away and so why can't they see

it happened to be one will rise, one will fall but all the waves shine some brighter than others and the best you can ask for when you spread your soul

and i would kill thee and still the world of dunes an islands and does not wash away with the tide why can't they see their beautiful in flight will they end up like me i realized when i lost my luster and gave up the night ugly, ducklings will fill in time
